Key Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly, take drink orders accurately, and serve beverages in a timely and professional manner.
  • Prepare and mix a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, ensuring consistency and adherence to recipes.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area, including glassware, spirits, mixers, and garnishes.
  • Monitor and manage bar inventory, assisting with stock counts and ordering as required.
  • Process payments efficiently and accurately using the hotel's POS system.
  • Engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner, anticipating their needs and providing recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, as well as local licensing laws regarding alcohol service.
  • Collaborate effectively with other hotel staff, including servers, kitchen staff, and front desk personnel.
  • Handle guest inquiries and resolve minor complaints with professionalism and discretion, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Uphold the highest standards of service and presentation at all times.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Bar Attendant or in a similar hospitality role (minimum 1.5 years).
  • Extensive knowledge of various alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktail recipes.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Proficiency in using POS systems and handling cash/card transactions.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • A positive attitude and a team-player mentality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certificate or diploma in Hospitality Management or related field.
  • Additional language proficiency (e.g., French, Yoruba).
  • Experience in a high-volume hotel bar or restaurant.
  • Knowledge of local attractions and points of interest in Badagry to assist guests.
