Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef and other culinary team members in daily food preparation, cooking tasks, and plating.
  • Ensure all food items are prepared according to established recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic kitchen workstation and storage areas at all times, adhering to strict sanitation protocols.
  • Handle inventory management, including proper stock rotation, labeling, and storage of ingredients to minimize waste.
  • Support with receiving, checking, and storing deliveries in accordance with food safety standards and company policies.
  • Operate and maintain various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, reporting any malfunctions promptly.
  • Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations and best practices within the kitchen.
  • Contribute to menu development and special event planning by offering creative ideas and assisting with preparation.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and respectful working relationship with all kitchen and hotel staff members.

Required Skills

  • Proven basic cooking skills and fundamental knowledge of various culinary techniques.
  • Solid understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP principles preferred).
  • Ability to work effectively and calmly in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate seamlessly with the culinary brigade.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to stand for long periods, lift heavy items, and perform repetitive tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Culinary diploma or certificate from a recognized hospitality or culinary institution.
  • Previous experience (1+ year) in a professional hotel kitchen or a reputable restaurant setting.
