Job Description

In this pivotal role, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for their entire stay. Your day will involve everything from smooth check-ins and check-outs to providing local recommendations, handling reservations, and resolving inquiries, all while ensuring our guests feel valued and cared for. Key Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival, manage check-ins and check-outs efficiently and accurately.
  • Handle all guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Process reservations, modifications, and cancellations, ensuring all details are correctly recorded.
  • Manage the switchboard, direct calls, and take messages effectively.
  • Maintain an organized and tidy front desk area, ensuring all necessary supplies are stocked.
  • Process payments, manage cash and credit card transactions, and balance daily receipts.
  • Provide guests with accurate information about hotel services, facilities, and local attractions.
  • Assist with luggage handling and coordination of guest transportation when required.
  • Perform light administrative duties such as filing, photocopying, and data entry.
  • Collaborate with other hotel departments (housekeeping, restaurant, management) to ensure seamless guest service.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a customer service role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Sesotho.
  • Proficiency in using hotel management software (PMS) and standard office applications.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a calm demeanor under pressure.
  • A positive attitude and a genuine desire to assist guests.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A diploma or certificate in Hospitality Management or a related field.
  • Previous experience with Fidelio, Opera, or similar Property Management Systems.
  • Knowledge of local culture, attractions, and amenities in Thaba-Tseka.
  • Fluency in additional local languages.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
