Job Description

The Boma Nairobi is seeking a highly motivated, exceptionally customer-focused, and meticulously organized Hotel Front Desk Attendant to be the welcoming face of our prestigious hotel. As a Front Desk Attendant, you will serve as the initial point of contact for our esteemed guests, playing a pivotal role in shaping their overall experience from the moment they arrive until their departure. Your primary responsibility will be to provide consistently exceptional service, manage guest check-ins and check-outs with speed and precision, and address all inquiries, requests, and concerns with utmost professionalism, efficiency, and a genuinely positive attitude. This dynamic role requires an individual who is not only adept at handling administrative tasks such as reservations, billing, and record-keeping, but also possesses a genuine passion for hospitality and a natural ability to connect empathetically with people from diverse backgrounds. Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly welcome and register guests, assign rooms, and issue room keys.
  • Process guest check-ins and check-outs efficiently and accurately.
  • Handle all guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Answer and direct incoming calls, taking messages as necessary.
  • Manage reservations, modifications, and cancellations through the hotel's system.
  • Process payments, handle cash, and maintain accurate billing records.
  • Provide information about hotel services, facilities, and local attractions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized front desk and lobby area.
  • Collaborate with housekeeping, concierge, and other departments to ensure seamless guest service.
  • Resolve guest issues and complaints to ensure satisfaction and maintain hotel reputation.

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Swahili.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in hotel management software (PMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
  • High level of professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or Certificate in Hospitality Management, Tourism, or a related field.
  • Previous experience with Fidelio/Opera PMS system.
  • Additional language proficiency (e.g., French, German, Mandarin).
