Job Description

Hotel Versalles is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Full-Time Hotel Front Desk Clerk. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about hospitality and dedicated to providing outstanding service in a dynamic environment. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play a crucial role in shaping their experience from the moment they arrive until their departure. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing various front office operations, including guest check-ins and check-outs, processing reservations, handling inquiries, and ensuring all guest needs are met with professionalism and courtesy. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate guest records, processing payments, and providing valuable local information and recommendations to enhance our guests’ stay in May Pen. This role requires excellent communication skills, a calm demeanor under pressure, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting. Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet and welcome guests upon their arrival at the hotel.
  • Efficiently process guest check-ins and check-outs, ensuring a smooth and pleasant experience.
  • Manage and confirm reservations via phone, email, and online booking systems.
  • Handle all guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Accurately process payments, maintain cash drawer balance, and manage billing procedures.
  • Provide comprehensive information about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions in May Pen.
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls, faxes, and emails to the appropriate departments.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable front desk and lobby area.
  • Collaborate effectively with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, record-keeping, and report generation.
  • Monitor front desk security systems and adhere to all safety protocols.
  • Conduct wake-up calls and provide other personalized services as requested by guests.

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proven customer service experience, preferably in a hospitality setting.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Office Suite).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure.
  • Problem-solving capabilities and a proactive approach.
  • Professional appearance and a friendly, welcoming demeanor.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a Front Desk Clerk or in a similar customer-facing role.
  • Familiarity with hotel property management systems (PMS) like Opera, Fidelio, or similar.
  • Knowledge of May Pen and surrounding Clarendon parish attractions and services.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; a degree or certificate in Hospitality Management is a plus.
  • Additional language proficiency (e.g., Spanish) is an asset.
