Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet and welcome guests upon arrival and departure, handling check-ins and check-outs efficiently.
  • Manage guest reservations, modifications, and cancellations with accuracy using property management systems.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest inquiries, requests, and complaints, ensuring satisfactory resolutions.
  • Provide comprehensive information about hotel services, facilities, local attractions, and dining options in Chinatown and Ottawa.
  • Process payments, balance accounts, and maintain accurate daily financial records.
  • Handle incoming calls, direct them appropriately, and take messages when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk and lobby area.
  • Collaborate effectively with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to ensure seamless guest service.
  • Uphold hotel security procedures and guest privacy standards at all times.
  • Assist with administrative tasks as needed to support overall hotel operations.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 6 months of experience in a customer service or hospitality role.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • Proven ability to maintain a professional and friendly demeanor.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with hotel property management systems (e.g., Opera, Cloudbeds).
