Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the hotel's grounds, including lawns, gardens, pathways, and common outdoor areas, ensuring they are clean, tidy, and aesthetically pleasing.
- Perform regular landscaping duties such as mowing, trimming, weeding, pruning shrubs and trees, and planting flowers and seasonal foliage.
- Operate and maintain various landscaping equipment, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools, ensuring they are in good working order and used safely.
- Manage irrigation systems, ensuring proper watering schedules for all plants and addressing any issues promptly.
- Monitor the health of plants and turf, identifying and treating diseases or pests as necessary.
- Keep outdoor furniture, fixtures, and decorative elements clean and well-maintained.
- Assist with waste management and ensure proper disposal of green waste and other refuse from the grounds.
- Report any hazards, damage, or maintenance needs on the grounds to the management.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a groundskeeper, landscaper, or in a similar role, preferably within a hospitality setting.
- Proficiency in operating various landscaping equipment and tools safely.
- Solid knowledge of horticulture, including plant care, soil types, and pest control.
- Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks, lift heavy objects, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to grounds maintenance.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
