Key Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly clean and tidy guest rooms, including bedrooms, bathrooms, and living areas, ensuring all hotel standards for cleanliness and presentation are met or exceeded.
  • Change and replace all bed linens, towels, and other soft furnishings according to established procedures and schedules.
  • Replenish guest room supplies and amenities such as toiletries, stationery, and complimentary beverages.
  • Clean and maintain public areas of the hotel, including lobbies, hallways, elevators, and restrooms, ensuring they are consistently spotless and inviting.
  • Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards immediately to the appropriate department.
  • Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment, and waste disposal procedures.
  • Handle guest requests promptly and professionally, maintaining a courteous and helpful demeanor at all times.
  • Assist with laundry duties, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens as required.
  • Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and guest room amenities, reporting stock levels and ordering needs to supervisors.

Required Skills

  • Proven ability to pay meticulous attention to detail and maintain high standards of cleanliness.
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform demanding tasks, including standing, bending, lifting, and pushing carts for extended periods.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills to complete tasks efficiently within allocated timeframes.
  • Strong communication skills and a courteous demeanor when interacting with guests and team members.
  • Reliability and a strong work ethic.
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (at least 1 year) in a hotel housekeeping or similar role.
  • Familiarity with various cleaning chemicals and their safe usage.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Secondary school leaving certificate or equivalent.
