Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of housekeeping staff, including room attendants, public area attendants, and laundry personnel.
- Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, tidiness, and presentation are met.
- Train new housekeeping staff and provide ongoing coaching and development to existing team members.
- Manage and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, linen, and guest amenities, ensuring adequate stock levels and cost control.
- Develop and implement efficient cleaning schedules and routines to maximize productivity and guest satisfaction.
- Address and resolve guest complaints or requests related to housekeeping services promptly and professionally.
- Ensure all health, safety, and hygiene regulations are strictly adhered to by the housekeeping team.
- Conduct performance evaluations for staff and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with front office, maintenance, and other departments to ensure seamless hotel operations.
- Prepare daily and weekly operational reports for management.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within housekeeping, preferably in a hotel setting.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities with a focus on motivation and development.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently under pressure.
- Solid understanding of cleaning techniques, chemical usage, and safety procedures.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications for reporting and scheduling.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, informed decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality Management or a related field.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience with hotel property management systems (PMS) and housekeeping software.
- Knowledge of sustainable cleaning practices and environmental initiatives.
- Fluency in additional languages is a plus.
