Key Responsibilities
- Sorting, washing, drying, folding, and pressing all hotel linens, including sheets, towels, tablecloths, and staff uniforms.
- Operating and maintaining laundry equipment, such as industrial washers, dryers, and ironers, ensuring proper usage and reporting any malfunctions promptly.
- Inspecting linens for stains, tears, or damage, and taking appropriate action for repair or discard.
- Adhering strictly to hygiene and sanitation standards, as well as safety procedures in the laundry area.
- Managing laundry supplies, including detergents, softeners, and other chemicals, and informing management when stock levels are low.
- Organizing and storing clean linen efficiently, ensuring easy access for various departments.
- Assisting with inventory counts and maintaining accurate records of linen usage and condition.
- Collaborating effectively with housekeeping and other hotel departments to meet operational demands and guest expectations.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment at all times.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor or hotel management.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and dexterity to handle repetitive tasks and lift heavy loads (up to 25kg).
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for following instructions and managing inventory.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of basic health and safety protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in a laundry or housekeeping department, preferably within a hotel setting.
