Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections of hotel facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house operations, to identify and address maintenance needs proactively and prevent potential issues.
- Perform a wide range of repairs and preventive maintenance tasks on electrical systems, plumbing fixtures, HVAC units, refrigeration equipment, kitchen appliances, and general building structures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently, minimizing disruption to hotel guests and ensuring continuous operational flow.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls, such as power outages or water leaks, and complete work orders in a timely and professional manner, adhering to service level agreements.
- Assist in the installation of new equipment and systems as required, ensuring compliance with all safety standards, building codes, and operational specifications.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance work performed, parts used, equipment serviced, and any outstanding issues, utilizing a maintenance management system.
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean, organized, and safe at all times, including proper disposal of waste and hazardous materials.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with other hotel departments, such as front office and housekeeping, to ensure guest comfort and operational efficiency.
- Perform general carpentry, painting, and plastering tasks to maintain the aesthetic appeal and structural integrity of the hotel property.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician, preferably with at least 3 years in a hotel or hospitality environment.
- Strong practical knowledge and hands-on experience in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics accurately.
- Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills to identify and rectify complex technical issues.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with guests, staff, and vendors.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as an effective member of a team.
- High level of attention to detail and a steadfast commitment to quality workmanship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical certification or diploma in a relevant field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Technology, Building Technology).
- Familiarity with hotel property management systems (PMS) or computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for logging and tracking requests.
- Experience with generator maintenance and basic IT troubleshooting.
- Possession of current First Aid and Safety certifications.
