Career.zycto is actively seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Hotel Maintenance Technician to join our team, serving a premier hospitality establishment located on the prestigious Saka Tinubu Street, Victoria Island. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on all hotel equipment and systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, kitchen equipment, and refrigeration.
  • Respond promptly and efficiently to maintenance requests from staff and guests, diagnosing issues and performing necessary repairs.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of hotel facilities to identify and address potential maintenance concerns before they escalate.
  • Execute general handyman duties, including painting, carpentry, plastering, and minor repairs to furniture and fixtures.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work performed, parts used, and equipment serviced.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and hotel policies, promoting a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with other departments to minimize disruption to guests during maintenance activities.
  • Manage inventory of tools, equipment, and spare parts, initiating requisitions as needed.
  • Be available for on-call duties or emergency repairs outside regular hours as per operational requirements.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the hotel’s maintenance operations and energy efficiency initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician, preferably in a hotel or similar commercial setting.
  • Strong knowledge and practical skills in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general carpentry.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Basic computer literacy for record-keeping and maintenance software.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual tasks, lift heavy objects, and work in various conditions.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Trade certification or vocational qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing).
  • Experience with building management systems (BMS).
  • Knowledge of local safety codes and regulations.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
