Career.zycto is seeking an experienced Hotel Maintenance Technician to join the team at a prestigious hotel located on Akin Adesola Street Extension, Lagos Island. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on hotel equipment, machinery, and systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and refrigeration.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff, troubleshooting and repairing issues efficiently.
  • Conduct daily inspections of hotel premises to identify and address potential maintenance concerns before they escalate.
  • Repair and maintain guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities, including painting, carpentry, and general repairs.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with safety regulations and hotel standards.
  • Assist with the installation of new equipment and systems as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure minimal disruption to guest experience during maintenance work.
  • Provide emergency repair services outside of regular working hours when necessary (on-call rotation).

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a maintenance technician, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
  • Proficiency in using various hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant technical certification or vocational training in a skilled trade (e.g., electrical, plumbing).
  • Experience with hotel property management systems (PMS) for tracking maintenance requests.
  • Basic computer literacy for record-keeping and communication.
  • First aid and safety training.
