Job Description

Career.zycto is actively recruiting on behalf of a distinguished hospitality client in Kpata, Lokoja, for the vital role of a Hotel Night Auditor. This full-time, overnight position is fundamental to the operational integrity and financial accuracy of the hotel, bridging the gap between one day’s business and the next. As a Night Auditor, you will be entrusted with a broad spectrum of responsibilities that demand both meticulous attention to detail and outstanding guest service skills. Your primary duties will involve performing the end-of-day audit, which includes verifying and balancing all revenue accounts, reconciling cash, credit card, and other transactions processed during the day, and ensuring the accurate posting of charges to guest accounts.

Beyond the financial oversight, you will serve as the sole front desk representative during the late hours, meaning you’ll be the face of the hotel for overnight arrivals and departures. This requires a professional demeanor, efficient check-in/check-out procedures, and a calm approach to handling guest inquiries, complaints, or unforeseen situations. You will also be responsible for preparing various daily reports for management, providing crucial insights into the day’s performance and upcoming occupancy. Maintaining the security of the front desk area, ensuring guest privacy, and acting as the initial point of contact for any emergencies are also critical components of this role. This position demands a self-motivated individual who can work independently, proactively solve problems, and uphold the hotel’s reputation for excellence even in the quiet hours. Key Responsibilities

  • Execute daily audit procedures for all hotel transactions and accounts.
  • Verify and balance all revenue accounts, including room, food and beverage, and other departmental revenues.
  • Process and reconcile cash, credit card, and direct billing transactions accurately.
  • Handle guest check-ins and check-outs efficiently during the night shift.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing guest inquiries and resolving issues promptly and professionally.
  • Generate and distribute daily management reports, including revenue summaries and occupancy statistics.
  • Maintain front desk security and ensure the privacy and safety of guests and hotel property.
  • Perform front desk duties such as answering phones, making reservations, and responding to guest requests.
  • Prepare the hotel for the next day's operations, including setting up systems and necessary paperwork.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all emergencies during the overnight period.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in hotel Property Management Systems (PMS), e.g., Opera, Fidelio.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills under pressure.
  • Demonstrated reliability and punctuality for overnight shifts.
  • Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hotel front office or night audit role.
  • Familiarity with local tourism regulations and hospitality standards.
  • Fluency in additional local languages relevant to Kpata, Lokoja (e.g., Igala, Nupe).
