Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and experienced Hotel Night Auditor to join our dynamic team for the night shift in La Louise, Quatre Bornes. This pivotal role ensures the smooth and efficient operation of our hotel during the overnight hours, playing a critical part in guest satisfaction and financial integrity. As a Night Auditor, you will be the primary point of contact for guests during the late hours, handling check-ins, check-outs, and any inquiries or emergencies that may arise. Beyond guest services, a significant portion of your role involves reconciling daily transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring all accounts balance correctly from the day’s activities. You will be responsible for meticulously reviewing guest folios, processing payments, and accurately posting charges, making sure every detail aligns with hotel policies and accounting standards.

This position requires a sharp eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a calm and efficient manner. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform all end-of-day hotel financial audit procedures, including balancing all revenue and settlement accounts.
  • Process guest check-ins and check-outs efficiently and courteously during the night shift.
  • Handle all guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Prepare and distribute daily reports for management and relevant departments.
  • Monitor security cameras and conduct regular property walks to ensure guest safety and property security.
  • Accurately post all room and tax charges, as well as any incidental charges, to guest accounts.
  • Maintain a clean and organized front desk area, ensuring all supplies are stocked.
  • Assist with reservations and future bookings as needed.
  • Act as a point of contact for emergency situations, following established hotel protocols.
  • Complete cash and credit card reconciliation for the day's transactions.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Night Auditor or Front Desk Agent, preferably in a hotel setting.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and hotel property management systems (PMS).
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills with an exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English and French.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions during the night shift.
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Customer-service oriented with a professional and calm demeanor.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or certification in Hospitality Management, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with local tourism regulations and best practices.
  • Experience with Opera PMS or similar hotel software.
  • Additional language proficiency (e.g., Mauritian Creole).
