Career.zycto is excited to announce an opening for a dedicated and energetic Hotel Porter to join a prestigious hospitality team in Adigbe, Abeokuta. This vital role is at the forefront of guest experience, ensuring every visitor receives a warm welcome and exceptional service from the moment they arrive. As a Hotel Porter, you will be the first point of contact for many guests, setting the tone for their entire stay with your professionalism, efficiency, and friendly demeanor. Your primary responsibilities will revolve around assisting guests with their luggage, managing the flow of arrivals and departures, and providing helpful information about the hotel’s amenities and local attractions.

Beyond just luggage handling, this role requires a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to guest satisfaction. You will be instrumental in maintaining the pristine appearance of the hotel lobby and entrance areas, ensuring they are always welcoming and tidy. Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet guests upon arrival and assist them with their luggage from their vehicle to their room.
  • Efficiently retrieve and deliver luggage for departing guests, ensuring timely service.
  • Escort guests to their rooms, providing an overview of hotel facilities, room features, and safety procedures.
  • Assist guests with general inquiries, providing accurate information about hotel services, amenities, and local points of interest.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming lobby and entrance area, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
  • Handle guest requests and resolve minor issues with professionalism and a problem-solving attitude.
  • Assist with loading and unloading of guest vehicles, including valet parking duties if required.
  • Support other hotel departments as needed, including front desk, housekeeping, and concierge.
  • Adhere to all hotel safety and security procedures and protocols.
  • Operate luggage carts and other equipment safely and efficiently.

Required Skills

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong physical stamina and ability to lift and carry heavy luggage.
  • Professional appearance and a positive, friendly demeanor.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of the Adigbe, Abeokuta area and local attractions.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a hotel, hospitality, or customer service role.
  • Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent.
  • Ability to speak multiple languages is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license (if valet parking is part of the role).
