Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated Hotel Porter to join our vibrant team in Westminster, London. As a Hotel Porter, you will be the welcoming face of our establishment, playing a crucial role in ensuring a seamless and exceptional experience for every guest from the moment they arrive until their departure. Your day will be dynamic, involving direct interaction with a diverse range of international and local guests. You’ll be responsible for the swift and secure handling of guest luggage, from curbside to room and vice versa, often navigating busy lobby areas with professionalism and grace. Beyond luggage, your role extends to providing valuable information, assisting with directions, calling taxis, and generally being a helpful resource for guests exploring London. You will work closely with the Front Office and Concierge teams to ensure all guest requests are met promptly and courteously, contributing significantly to the overall guest satisfaction and our hotel’s reputation. This position requires someone who is physically fit, capable of handling varying weights, and possesses excellent communication skills to interact effectively with guests and colleagues. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly welcome and assist guests upon arrival and departure, creating a positive first and last impression.
- Efficiently and safely handle, transport, and store guest luggage to and from rooms, cars, and storage areas.
- Provide accurate and helpful information regarding hotel facilities, services, and local attractions in Westminster and wider London.
- Assist guests with general inquiries, directions, and transportation arrangements (e.g., calling taxis, arranging car services).
- Maintain a tidy, organized, and presentable lobby area, assisting with minor duties such as tidying newspapers or rearranging seating.
- Deliver newspapers, parcels, and messages to guest rooms as required, ensuring timely and discreet service.
- Collaborate effectively with the Front Office, Concierge, and other hotel departments to ensure seamless guest service.
- Adhere strictly to all hotel policies, safety procedures, and security protocols.
- Be proactive in anticipating guest needs and offering assistance before being asked.
- Operate any relevant equipment safely and responsibly (e.g., luggage trolleys).
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills in English.
- Strong customer service orientation and a genuinely helpful demeanor.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift and carry luggage (up to 25kg) and stand/walk for extended periods.
