Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the hotel reception desk, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
- Train, mentor, and motivate reception staff, ensuring high standards of performance and guest service.
- Handle guest check-ins and check-outs efficiently, accurately, and courteously.
- Address and resolve guest complaints and issues promptly, ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Monitor and manage room availability, reservations, and special requests.
- Oversee cash handling, billing, and credit card transactions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to financial procedures.
- Prepare daily reports, monitor occupancy rates, and communicate relevant information to management.
- Ensure the reception area is tidy, well-organized, and presentable at all times.
- Implement and enforce hotel policies and procedures, including security and emergency protocols.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive and seamless guest experience.
- Conduct regular performance reviews for reception staff and identify areas for improvement.
- Assist in the scheduling of reception staff to ensure adequate coverage and operational efficiency.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in hotel front office operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Property Management Systems (PMS) – e.g., Opera, Fidelio.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Customer-focused mindset with a strong commitment to service excellence.
- Sound knowledge of hotel operations, policies, and procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Hospitality Management, Tourism, or a related field.
- Fluency in additional languages beyond English (e.g., Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo).
- Experience with revenue management and yield strategies.
