Job Description

Leribe Mountain Lodge is seeking a dynamic and welcoming Hotel Receptionist to be the first point of contact for our valued guests. In this pivotal role, you will be the face of our lodge, responsible for ensuring a seamless and pleasant experience from arrival to departure. You will manage reservations, handle check-ins and check-outs, address guest inquiries, and provide valuable information about our services and local attractions. Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet and welcome guests upon arrival, processing check-ins efficiently and courteously.
  • Manage and process guest check-outs, including accurate billing and payment procedures.
  • Handle all incoming calls, emails, and direct inquiries professionally and promptly, providing accurate information.
  • Maintain accurate guest records and continuously update room availability information using our property management system.
  • Assist guests with luggage, transportation arrangements, and provide comprehensive information about the lodge's facilities and local attractions in Leribe.
  • Process reservations, modifications, and cancellations with precision, ensuring all details are correctly captured.
  • Address guest complaints and concerns with empathy and resolve issues to their satisfaction, escalating complex matters to management when necessary.
  • Maintain a tidy, organized, and presentable reception area at all times to ensure a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Collaborate effectively with other hotel departments such as housekeeping, restaurant, and maintenance to ensure a smooth and enjoyable guest experience.
  • Perform general administrative duties including filing, data entry, and handling mail, as required to support front office operations.

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Sesotho.
  • Strong customer service orientation and outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for administrative tasks.
  • Ability to handle cash transactions and process credit card payments accurately and securely.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as per hotel operational needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or certificate in Hospitality Management, Tourism, or a related field.
  • Previous experience with Hotel Management Systems (e.g., Opera PMS, Cloudbeds, Fidelio).
  • Knowledge of local tourism attractions, services, and cultural nuances in the Leribe district.
  • Fluency in an additional local language (e.g., Zulu, Xhosa) would be an advantage.
