Key Responsibilities

  • Perform efficient guest check-ins and check-outs, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience.
  • Manage reservations, cancellations, and modifications accurately using the hotel's property management system.
  • Answer phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries with professionalism, providing information about hotel services, local attractions, and directions.
  • Process payments, handle cash, and maintain accurate guest accounts and daily financial reports.
  • Address guest complaints and concerns promptly and effectively, escalating issues to management when necessary.
  • Assist guests with special requests, luggage handling, and arrange transportation or wake-up calls.
  • Maintain a tidy and organised reception area, ensuring all necessary supplies are readily available.
  • Collaborate effectively with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to ensure guest satisfaction.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in front office operations and reservation systems (e.g., Opera PMS, Fidelio, or similar).
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to guest needs.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail for administrative and financial tasks.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Hotel Receptionist or in a similar front-of-house role.
  • Knowledge of the local Knowle/Bristol area attractions and amenities.
  • Familiarity with hotel safety and security procedures.
  • Additional language proficiency is a plus.
