Key Responsibilities
- Warmly welcome and register guests upon arrival, ensuring a smooth, efficient, and personalized check-in process.
- Process guest check-outs, accurately handling payments, issuing invoices, and providing necessary assistance with luggage or transportation.
- Answer incoming calls and respond to guest emails and in-person inquiries in a timely, professional, and courteous manner, providing comprehensive information.
- Provide detailed information about hotel facilities, services, local attractions, dining options, and upcoming events to enhance guest experience.
- Handle guest complaints and resolve issues promptly, escalating to management when necessary, always maintaining a calm and helpful approach to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Manage room reservations, modifications, and cancellations with precision and efficiency using the hotel's Property Management System (PMS).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and presentable reception area at all times, reflecting the high standards of the resort.
- Collaborate effectively with other hotel departments (e.g., housekeeping, concierge, food & beverage) to fulfill guest requests and ensure seamless service delivery.
- Perform administrative tasks such as preparing daily reports, managing incoming and outgoing mail, and maintaining accurate guest records and data privacy.
- Adhere strictly to all hotel policies, safety procedures, and service standards to ensure a safe and professional environment for guests and staff.
- Assist guests with special requests, such as arranging taxi services, tours, or providing directions, going the extra mile to exceed expectations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience of at least 6 months in a customer service role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English, with a clear and professional telephone manner.
- Proficiency in using computer systems, including Microsoft Office Suite, and a demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software and hotel-specific systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly, welcoming, professional, and empathetic demeanor towards guests and colleagues.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks effectively, and remain calm, composed, and efficient under pressure during busy periods.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive, guest-centric approach to resolving issues and anticipating needs.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, overnight, weekends, and public holidays, as per resort operational needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with a Property Management System (PMS), such as Opera, Fidelio, or similar hotel software.
- A diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Tourism, or a related field.
- Proficiency in additional languages (e.g., Spanish, German, French) is highly advantageous for communicating with our diverse international clientele.
- Prior experience working in an all-inclusive resort or a high-volume hotel setting.
- Knowledge of local attractions, culture, and amenities in Montego Bay and surrounding areas.
