Job Description
Uroa Bay Beach Resort is seeking a dedicated and personable Part-Time Hotel Shuttle Assistant to join our dynamic team in Chwaka, Zanzibar. In this pivotal role, you will be the friendly face that greets our guests, ensuring their comfortable and safe transportation to and from designated locations. This position requires someone with excellent communication skills, a strong commitment to punctuality, and a genuine desire to provide exceptional guest service. You will primarily assist our shuttle drivers, help guests with their luggage, provide local information, and maintain the cleanliness and readiness of our shuttle vehicles. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and assist guests with luggage loading and unloading during shuttle transfers.
- Ensure guest comfort and safety throughout their journey, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Provide helpful local information and answer guest inquiries about the resort and Zanzibar attractions.
- Assist shuttle drivers with route navigation and scheduling as needed.
- Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of shuttle vehicles, ensuring a pleasant environment for guests.
- Communicate effectively with the front desk and other resort departments regarding guest movements and special requests.
- Support guests with special needs, offering assistance and ensuring accessibility.
- Adhere strictly to resort policies and procedures, including timing and service standards.
- Report any vehicle maintenance issues or guest concerns promptly to management.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills in English and Swahili.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift and carry luggage, and assist guests with mobility challenges.
- Punctual, reliable, and able to work flexible part-time hours, including evenings and weekends.
- A positive attitude and a professional, presentable appearance.
- Familiarity with the Chwaka and general Zanzibar area is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in hospitality, guest service, or a similar customer-facing role.
- A valid Tanzanian driving license (Class B or D) is an advantage, though not strictly required for the assistant role.
- Additional language proficiency (e.g., French, German, Italian).
