Job Description

Mafeteng Hotel is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Hotel Waiter to join our vibrant Food & Beverage team with an immediate start. Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet and seat guests upon their arrival in the dining area.
  • Present menus, explain daily specials, and offer recommendations with enthusiasm and knowledge.
  • Accurately take food and beverage orders, utilizing our point-of-sale system.
  • Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally, ensuring correct presentation and temperature.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction throughout their meal, responding to requests and addressing concerns proactively.
  • Clear tables efficiently and reset them for the next guests, maintaining hygiene standards.
  • Process payments accurately and handle cash/card transactions with integrity.
  • Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other team members to ensure seamless service.
  • Assist with setting up and breaking down dining areas for various events or shifts.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including proper food handling practices.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including stocking service stations.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team atmosphere.

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Basic mathematical skills for order taking and bill calculation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 months experience in a waiter/waitress role, preferably within a hotel or restaurant setting.
  • A diploma or certificate in hospitality or a related field.
  • Familiarity with local Basotho cuisine and beverages.
  • Ability to communicate in Sesotho and English.
  • Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
