Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Housekeeper – Domestic Villa Specialist to join our team, working within a private, luxury villa managed by Pam Golding Properties in the exclusive New Grove area of Grand Port District. This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual who takes immense pride in maintaining immaculate living spaces and providing discreet, high-quality service. The successful candidate will be responsible for upholding the highest standards of cleanliness, organisation, and presentation throughout the villa, ensuring a comfortable and luxurious environment for its residents or guests. This role requires an individual with a keen eye for detail, a proactive approach, and an unwavering commitment to discretion and professionalism. You will manage all aspects of household cleaning, laundry, and light organisational tasks, contributing significantly to the serene and upscale living experience our properties are known for. We are looking for someone who can anticipate needs, manage their time effectively, and operate with minimal supervision while adhering to specific instructions and preferences. This role is more than just cleaning; it’s about creating a pristine and welcoming atmosphere that reflects the prestige of the property and the expectations of its inhabitants.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive daily, weekly, and deep cleaning tasks across all areas of the villa, including living rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and exterior terraces.
- Manage all laundry duties, including washing, ironing, folding, and proper storage of linens, towels, and personal garments, with careful attention to fabric types.
- Maintain immaculate condition of all furniture, fixtures, appliances, and decorative items, ensuring proper cleaning methods for delicate surfaces.
- Organise and tidy cupboards, drawers, and storage areas, adhering to established systems and preferences.
- Monitor and replenish household supplies (e.g., toiletries, cleaning products, pantry staples) and maintain inventory records.
- Assist with basic meal preparation and serving, as required, and manage kitchen cleanliness post-use.
- Report any maintenance issues, damage, or required repairs promptly to the property manager.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Demonstrate utmost discretion and respect for the privacy of the villa's residents or guests.
- Flexibility to assist with special requests or events as they arise, ensuring seamless service.
- Handle delicate items, antiques, and valuable possessions with extreme care and attention.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Housekeeper in a luxury hotel, private residence, or high-end villa environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and meticulous organisational skills.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning products, techniques, and equipment suitable for various surfaces and materials.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to complete tasks efficiently.
- Reliable, trustworthy, and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Excellent physical stamina and ability to perform duties requiring bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
- Discretion and respect for privacy are paramount.
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Proactive and observant, anticipating needs before being asked.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working for high-net-worth individuals or in exclusive private estates.
- A valid Mauritian driving license and access to reliable transport.
- Proficiency in French is a strong advantage.
- Basic first aid knowledge.
