Job Description

Maputsoe Hotel is actively seeking a dedicated Housekeeping Cleaner to join our dynamic team for an immediate start. This full-time position is crucial to maintaining the high standards of hygiene and presentation that our guests expect and deserve. As a Housekeeping Cleaner, you will be responsible for ensuring that all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces are meticulously clean, tidy, and well-maintained. Your efforts directly contribute to the comfort and satisfaction of our guests, playing a vital role in their overall experience at our esteemed hotel. Key Responsibilities
- Clean and tidy all assigned guest rooms to hotel standards, including making beds, dusting furniture, vacuuming carpets, and cleaning bathrooms.
- Replenish guest room amenities, linens, and supplies as required.
- Clean and maintain public areas such as lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and common lounges.
- Empty wastebaskets, transport dirty linen, and remove trash and waste materials.
- Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damaged items to the supervisor promptly.
- Follow all health and safety regulations and guidelines, including the proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Assist with laundry duties and restocking linen closets as needed.
- Maintain a friendly, professional, and helpful demeanor towards guests and colleagues.
- Adhere to hotel policies and procedures regarding guest privacy and lost and found items.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and a thorough approach to cleaning tasks.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift, bend, push, and pull.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Basic understanding of cleaning techniques and proper use of cleaning agents.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hotel or commercial cleaning environment.
- Familiarity with hospitality industry cleaning standards.
- Ability to communicate effectively in Sesotho and/or English.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
