Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Housekeeping Supervisor to lead our diligent housekeeping team at Thaba-Tseka Hotel. As the Housekeeping Supervisor, you will be instrumental in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and aesthetic appeal across all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities. This pivotal role requires a meticulous individual with a keen eye for detail, strong leadership capabilities, and a passion for delivering impeccable guest experiences. You will be responsible for overseeing daily housekeeping operations, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently, to standard, and within established timelines.
Your day-to-day will involve supervising a team of housekeepers, assigning duties, inspecting rooms and public spaces, and ensuring compliance with our stringent cleanliness protocols and safety regulations. You will play a crucial role in training new staff members, providing ongoing coaching and performance feedback to existing team members, and fostering a positive and productive work environment. Inventory management, including monitoring linen, cleaning supplies, and guest amenities, will also fall under your purview, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained without waste. The Housekeeping Supervisor acts as a vital link between the housekeeping department and other hotel departments, collaborating closely with front office, maintenance, and food & beverage teams to address guest needs and operational requirements promptly. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and motivate the housekeeping team, ensuring high standards of performance and productivity.
- Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house to ensure cleanliness, order, and adherence to hotel standards.
- Assign daily tasks to housekeeping staff and monitor their progress to ensure timely completion.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and guest amenities, ensuring adequate stock levels and minimizing waste.
- Develop and implement efficient cleaning procedures and schedules to optimize departmental operations.
- Address and resolve guest complaints or requests related to housekeeping services promptly and courteously.
- Collaborate with the maintenance department to report and follow up on repairs needed in guest rooms or public areas.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations and company policies.
- Prepare daily reports on room status, lost and found items, and departmental activities.
- Conduct regular performance reviews for team members and provide constructive feedback and development opportunities.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within housekeeping, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively with guests and staff.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

- Physical stamina to perform duties that may require standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or certification in Hotel Management, Hospitality, or a related field.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Familiarity with hotel property management systems (PMS).
- First Aid and CPR certification.
