Job Description

Are you passionate about creating a clean, organized, and welcoming environment? Gishoma Hotel is seeking a meticulous and dedicated Housemaid to join our vibrant team in Ruhango. This full-time residential position is perfect for someone who takes pride in their work and understands the importance of maintaining impeccable standards of cleanliness and hygiene within a hospitality setting. As a Housemaid, you will be an integral part of ensuring our premises, including guest rooms, common areas, and back-of-house facilities, are always presented at their absolute best. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cleaning of guest rooms, bathrooms, and common areas (lobbies, hallways, stairwells) according to hotel standards.
  • Change linens, make beds, and replenish guest room amenities.
  • Dust furniture, vacuum carpets, sweep and mop floors, and clean windows.
  • Empty waste bins and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
  • Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly.
  • Handle laundry services for hotel linens and guest items as required.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when supplies are low.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and hotel policies.
  • Assist with special cleaning projects as assigned.
  • Ensure a polite, friendly, and helpful demeanor towards guests and colleagues.

Required Skills

  • Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high standard of cleanliness.
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks, lift moderate weights, and stand for extended periods.
  • Honesty, integrity, and trustworthiness.
  • Basic communication skills (understanding and speaking Kinyarwanda or English).
  • Reliability and punctuality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (at least 1 year) in a housemaid, cleaner, or similar role in a residential or hospitality setting.
  • Knowledge of various cleaning products and equipment.
  • Familiarity with hygiene and sanitation standards.
