Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair various HVAC systems including split units, ducted systems, chillers, and VRF/VRV systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure optimal functionality and extend lifespan.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults in HVAC systems accurately and efficiently.
- Conduct refrigerant charging, recovery, and leak detection in compliance with environmental regulations.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics to ensure correct installation and repair.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians when required.
- Maintain accurate records of all service and maintenance activities.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with clients to explain issues and solutions.
Required Skills
- Diploma or Certificate in HVAC, Refrigeration, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as an HVAC Technician, with proven installation and repair expertise.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical components of HVAC systems.
- Strong knowledge of refrigerants, refrigeration cycles, and associated components.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in various on-site environments.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certifications (e.g., EPA 608, NITA Grade test) are a plus.
- Experience with building management systems (BMS) and smart HVAC controls.
- Familiarity with Kenyan building codes and industry standards.
