Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete cycle of international shipments (import and export) from origin to destination.
- Prepare, review, and process all necessary documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, bills of lading, and customs declarations.
- Ensure strict compliance with national and international customs regulations, trade agreements, and Incoterms.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and internal departments to facilitate timely and efficient cargo movement.
- Track and trace shipments, providing regular updates to relevant stakeholders and proactively resolving any transit issues or delays.
- Process import and export declarations electronically using relevant customs software.
- Maintain accurate records of all import/export activities, duties, taxes, and permits for audit purposes.
- Collaborate with suppliers and customers to gather necessary information and provide exceptional service.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement in logistics and customs procedures.
- Assist with duty drawback programs and other cost-saving initiatives related to international trade.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Import Export Coordinator or similar role in logistics/supply chain.
- Strong understanding of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and Incoterms.
- Proficiency in preparing and processing import/export documentation.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fluent in English and German.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
