Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Import Export Coordinator to join our dedicated team in Downtown Annapolis. This pivotal role involves managing the end-to-end process of international shipments, ensuring compliance with all relevant import and export regulations, and facilitating efficient global supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of customs procedures, trade agreements, and logistical challenges inherent in cross-border commerce. As an Import Export Coordinator, you will be instrumental in processing documentation such as commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin. You will meticulously coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and various internal departments, including sales, procurement, and warehousing, to ensure the timely and cost-effective movement of goods. Your responsibilities will also include diligent tracking of shipments, from origin to final destination, and proactive resolution of any issues that may arise during transit or customs clearance, such as delays, damages, or regulatory inquiries. This position demands a proactive approach to identify potential delays or compliance risks, implementing strategic solutions to mitigate them effectively and maintain uninterrupted flow of goods.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage all aspects of international import and export shipments, from order placement to delivery.
- Prepare, review, and process all necessary shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and customs declarations.
- Liaise effectively with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure smooth and timely cargo movement.
- Ensure strict compliance with all international trade regulations, customs laws, and company policies.
- Track and trace shipments, providing regular updates to stakeholders and resolving any transit issues promptly.
- Calculate and verify duties, taxes, and other charges associated with international shipments.
- Maintain accurate records and databases of all import/export activities and documentation.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs in international logistics.
- Stay informed on changes in international trade laws, tariffs, and customs procedures.
- Assist in auditing freight invoices and resolving discrepancies.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Import Export Coordinator or similar role in logistics/supply chain.
- In-depth knowledge of international shipping regulations (e.g., Incoterms, HTS codes, C-TPAT).
- Familiarity with customs clearance procedures and documentation requirements.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting with diverse stakeholders.
