Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and thorough Industrial Cleaner to join our client’s bustling manufacturing plant in Donholm, Nairobi. This crucial role is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the facility, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment for all staff. You will be an integral part of operations, preventing contamination, reducing workplace hazards, and upholding the integrity of the manufacturing process. Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and sanitizing floors, walls, and work surfaces within the manufacturing plant.
- Operate and maintain industrial cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, pressure washers, and vacuum cleaners safely and effectively.
- Clean and disinfect machinery, equipment, and production lines according to strict cleaning schedules and safety protocols.
- Dispose of waste materials, industrial refuse, and recyclables in designated containers and areas, adhering to environmental regulations.
- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, reporting any shortages or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report any potential hazards, spills, or maintenance issues observed during cleaning duties.
- Work collaboratively with production staff to ensure cleaning activities do not disrupt manufacturing operations.
- Conduct deep cleaning of specific areas during scheduled plant shutdowns or as required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an industrial cleaner, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Knowledge of industrial cleaning methods, products, and equipment.
- Ability to operate and maintain heavy-duty cleaning machinery.
- Strong understanding and adherence to safety procedures and regulations, including COSHH or equivalent.
- Excellent physical stamina and ability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic communication skills to understand instructions and report issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification in industrial cleaning or relevant safety training.
- Experience with waste management procedures in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and hygiene standards.
