Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and thorough Industrial Cleaner to join our bustling manufacturing plant in Mombasa County. This crucial role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and overall tidiness of our production areas, warehouses, offices, and common spaces. As an Industrial Cleaner, you will be an integral part of our operations team, performing a wide array of cleaning tasks using specialized equipment and industrial-grade cleaning solutions. This isn’t just about tidying up; it’s about meticulously sanitizing machinery, maintaining floor surfaces in high-traffic zones, and ensuring that all areas meet or exceed established cleanliness standards. You will work closely with production staff to understand cleaning schedules and priorities, ensuring minimal disruption to manufacturing processes while maximizing hygiene. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, reliable, and capable of working independently as well as part of a team. You should be comfortable operating various cleaning machinery, including floor scrubbers, high-pressure washers, and vacuum cleaners, and possess a solid understanding of industrial cleaning chemicals and their safe application. Adherence to safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is paramount in this role. Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning and sanitization of manufacturing areas, production lines, and machinery, adhering to strict hygiene standards.
- Clean and maintain floors using industrial cleaning equipment such as scrubbers, buffers, and sweepers.
- Empty waste bins, transport waste to disposal areas, and ensure proper waste segregation.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, breakrooms, offices, and other common areas.
- Wash windows, walls, and other surfaces as required.
- Monitor and restock cleaning supplies, reporting any shortages to management.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or equipment malfunctions promptly.
- Assist with special cleaning projects or deep cleaning initiatives as needed.
- Ensure the proper handling, storage, and disposal of industrial cleaning chemicals.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an industrial cleaner, preferably in a manufacturing or plant setting.
- Ability to operate industrial cleaning equipment (e.g., floor scrubbers, pressure washers, vacuum cleaners).
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in an industrial environment.
- Understanding of various cleaning chemicals and their safe usage.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
