Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Industrial Electrician to join our robust maintenance team at Alexandria Container & Cargo Handling Co. This is a critical role within our operations, ensuring the continuous, safe, and efficient functioning of our vast array of electrical systems and heavy machinery essential for port activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex industrial electrical equipment, including high-voltage distribution systems, motor control centers, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and various port-specific equipment such as ship-to-shore (STS) gantry cranes, rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes, and conveyor systems. You will play a vital role in minimizing downtime, enhancing operational reliability, and upholding the highest safety standards in a fast-paced, demanding environment. This position requires a proactive problem-solver with a meticulous eye for detail, a strong understanding of electrical codes, and the ability to work collaboratively within a large industrial setting. Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical control systems, wiring, and apparatus in an industrial port environment.
- Perform preventative maintenance on a wide range of electrical equipment, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical issues, including motor controls, PLC systems, and power distribution systems, using schematics and testing devices.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, circuit diagrams, and technical manuals accurately.
- Ensure strict compliance with all local and international electrical codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Work competently with both high and low voltage systems (up to 480V/600V), adhering to lockout/tagout procedures.
- Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and execute timely repairs to minimize operational disruptions.
- Collaborate effectively with engineering, mechanical, and operational teams to coordinate maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repair, and inspection activities performed.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and participate in relevant training programs.

Preferred Qualifications

- Certified Industrial Electrician or equivalent professional certification.
- Familiarity with Egyptian electrical codes and regulations.
- Prior experience in a heavy industrial, maritime, or logistics environment.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken) in addition to Arabic.
