Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general shop cleanup and organization, including sweeping, mopping, and waste disposal, to maintain a safe and tidy work environment.
  • Assist skilled tradespeople and operators with various tasks, such as preparing materials, holding components, and handing tools.
  • Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment using appropriate manual or powered lifting devices (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts if certified).
  • Monitor inventory levels of supplies and notify supervisors when replenishment is needed.
  • Conduct basic maintenance and cleaning of machinery, tools, and work areas as directed.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Prepare surfaces for painting, welding, or assembly, including cleaning, sanding, and masking.
  • Assist with basic assembly or disassembly of components under supervision.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support shop operations and team objectives.

Required Skills

  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) safely and regularly.
  • Basic understanding of safety procedures and practices in an industrial setting.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
