Job Description

Career.zycto is actively seeking a diligent and skilled Injection Moulding Operator to join our dynamic production team in Brandon, Manitoba. As an Injection Moulding Operator, you will be instrumental in the production of high-quality plastic components that serve diverse industrial applications, contributing directly to the success and reputation of our products.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve the precise operation and continuous monitoring of injection moulding machines, ensuring optimal performance and product consistency. This includes accurately setting up molds, meticulously adjusting machine parameters such as temperature, pressure, and cycle times according to specific product requirements, and performing regular, thorough quality checks on produced parts to ensure they meet our stringent specifications. You will be expected to proactively identify and troubleshoot minor machine malfunctions, perform routine preventative maintenance tasks, and collaborate closely with your team members and supervisors to maintain a seamless and efficient production flow. Proper material handling, inventory tracking for raw materials, and adherence to production schedules are also critical aspects of this role. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor injection moulding machines according to production schedules and specifications.
  • Perform mold setups, changeovers, and parameter adjustments (temperature, pressure, cycle time).
  • Conduct regular quality inspections of molded parts to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Identify and troubleshoot basic machine faults and process deviations.
  • Perform routine cleaning and preventative maintenance on machines and equipment.
  • Handle raw materials, including loading and unloading, ensuring proper material flow.
  • Maintain accurate production records and complete required documentation.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize production efficiency and quality.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as an Injection Moulding Operator or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of injection moulding processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for machine operation and process issues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical dexterity and ability to lift up to 50 lbs as required.
  • Strong communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in plastics manufacturing is a plus.
  • Experience with various types of plastic resins and their properties.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or 5S principles.
  • Forklift operation certification.
  • Previous experience with preventative maintenance tasks on industrial machinery.
