As an Instrumentation Control Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of a wide array of instruments and control devices, including sensors, transmitters, valves, PLCs, and SCADA systems. Key Responsibilities
- Install, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial instrumentation and control systems (e.g., flow, pressure, temperature, level transmitters, control valves).
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and calibration checks on process control instrumentation.
- Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, pneumatic, and electronic control system issues.
- Program, configure, and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
- Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, P&ID diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to optimize system performance and minimize downtime.
- Document all maintenance activities, calibration results, and system modifications accurately.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
- Participate in the commissioning of new equipment and control system upgrades.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Instrumentation Control Technician or similar role (e.g., MSR-Techniker, Automatisierungstechniker)
- Strong understanding of industrial control systems, including PLCs (Siemens S7, Allen-Bradley), SCADA, and HMI.
- Proficiency in calibrating and troubleshooting various process instruments.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical drawings.
- Solid knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and safety standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- A relevant vocational degree or certification in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, or Automation Technology.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or a related field.
- IHK certified as an Industrieelektroniker or Mechatroniker.
- Experience with specific DCS platforms (e.g., Honeywell, Emerson).
