Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated Insurance Agent specializing in both sales and claims to join our vibrant team in Cross Roads, Kingston. As an Insurance Agent, you will be the primary point of contact for clients, responsible for understanding their unique needs and offering tailored insurance solutions. Your sales responsibilities will include prospecting new clients, building and nurturing a strong client base, conducting needs assessments, presenting comprehensive insurance plans, and closing sales for various insurance products such as life, health, property, and motor. You will be expected to meet and exceed ambitious sales targets, leveraging your persuasive communication and relationship-building skills.

Beyond sales, you will also play a crucial role in supporting clients through the claims process. This involves guiding policyholders through the steps of filing a claim, gathering necessary documentation, liaising with adjusters and underwriters, and ensuring a smooth and empathetic claims experience. Your ability to provide clear explanations, manage expectations, and advocate on behalf of clients during potentially stressful times will be paramount. You will ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies throughout both sales and claims operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and develop new client leads through various channels (networking, referrals, cold calling, community engagement).
  • Conduct thorough needs analyses to understand clients' insurance requirements and financial goals.
  • Present and explain various insurance products (life, health, property, motor, commercial) clearly and persuasively.
  • Close sales and achieve monthly/quarterly sales targets consistently.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships through excellent service and regular follow-ups.
  • Assist clients with the entire claims process, from initial reporting to resolution.
  • Gather and submit all necessary documentation for claims in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Act as a liaison between clients and insurance carriers, ensuring effective communication and advocacy.
  • Educate clients on policy terms, coverage, and claims procedures.
  • Stay informed about new insurance products, market trends, and regulatory changes.
  • Maintain accurate client records and sales activity reports.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development sessions.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in sales, preferably in insurance or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of various insurance products and policies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport and trust with diverse clients.
  • Results-oriented with a strong drive to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
  • High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Tertiary education in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Current General Insurance and/or Life Underwriters Association of Jamaica (LUAJ) license.
  • Prior experience managing insurance claims.
  • Established network within the Cross Roads, Kingston community.
  • Fluency in additional languages relevant to the local market.
