Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and cultivate new client leads through networking, referrals, and community engagement.
  • Conduct needs assessments to understand client requirements and recommend appropriate insurance products.
  • Present, explain, and sell various insurance policies (life, health, property, auto, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain a strong client portfolio, ensuring ongoing client satisfaction and retention.
  • Assist clients with policy changes, renewals, and general inquiries.
  • Guide clients through the claims process from initial reporting to final resolution, ensuring a smooth and empathetic experience.
  • Collaborate with claims adjusters and internal teams to expedite claims processing.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, sales activities, and claims documentation.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, product knowledge, and regulatory changes.
  • Achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly sales and service targets.

Required Skills

  • Proven sales ability with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong negotiation and persuasion capabilities.
  • High level of self-motivation, discipline, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Empathy and strong customer service orientation, especially during claims processing.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (for client visits).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as an Insurance Agent or in a related sales role within the financial services industry.
  • Existing network within the White River, Ocho Rios community.
  • Knowledge of local insurance regulations and market conditions in Jamaica.
  • Tertiary education (e.g., Associate's Degree or Diploma) in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience with claims handling and documentation.
