Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries via phone, email, and in-person, providing accurate and timely information regarding insurance policies, products, and services.
  • Assist policyholders with understanding their coverage details, policy terms, conditions, and renewal processes.
  • Process basic policy changes, updates, and endorsements accurately and efficiently.
  • Guide customers through the initial stages of the claims process, explaining required documentation and next steps.
  • Identify and escalate complex issues to appropriate departments or senior specialists for resolution.
  • Maintain meticulous records of customer interactions, inquiries, and resolutions in the company’s CRM system.
  • Educate customers on additional insurance products and services that may meet their needs, without engaging in direct sales.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations in all customer interactions.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance product knowledge and customer service skills.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating effectively with colleagues and sharing best practices.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proven ability to deliver outstanding customer service with a patient and empathetic approach.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a customer service role, preferably within the financial services or insurance industry.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of general insurance principles and products (motor, property, liability).
  • Experience with claims handling or policy administration systems.
  • Familiarity with the Jamaican insurance regulatory landscape.
  • Ability to speak Patois is a plus.
