Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial client consultations to understand their needs, preferences, budget, and project scope.
- Develop detailed design concepts, including mood boards, 2D layouts, and 3D renderings (if applicable).
- Source and select furniture, fixtures, lighting, materials, fabrics, and accessories, ensuring they meet design specifications and budget constraints.
- Prepare comprehensive proposals, including cost estimates and project timelines.
- Manage vendor relationships, negotiate prices, and oversee the procurement and delivery of all design elements.
- Supervise and coordinate contractors and craftspeople during the installation and renovation phases.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with clients throughout the design process, providing regular updates and addressing concerns.
- Stay updated with current design trends, materials, and technologies in the home improvement industry.
- Maintain a portfolio of completed projects for presentation to prospective clients.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Interior Decorator or Designer with a focus on residential projects.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar).
- Strong understanding of color theory, spatial planning, lighting design, and material selection.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
