Job Description

Mhasibu Sacco Society Ltd is seeking a talented and creative Interior Designer to join our dynamic team in Nyeri. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in conceptualizing, designing, and overseeing the setup of various interior spaces, ranging from corporate offices and residential units to commercial properties within our growing real estate portfolio. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative interior design concepts, proposals, and presentations for a diverse range of projects including offices, residential, and commercial spaces.
  • Conduct site visits, client consultations, and needs assessments to understand project requirements, scope, and objectives.
  • Create detailed space plans, layouts, 2D/3D renderings, and mood boards using industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Select and specify finishes, materials, furniture, lighting, and accessories, ensuring they align with design concepts, budget, and durability requirements.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively, coordinating with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and quality execution.
  • Oversee the procurement and installation processes, ensuring compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant building codes, regulations, and accessibility standards.
  • Collaborate closely with architects, project managers, and marketing teams to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to property development.
  • Stay updated with current interior design trends, new materials, and technological advancements to continually enhance design offerings.
  • Prepare comprehensive tender documents, specifications, and schedules for interior design elements.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as an Interior Designer with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse projects.
  • Proficiency in design software, including AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Exceptional creativity, aesthetic sensibility, and an eye for detail.
  • Strong understanding of space planning, ergonomics, color theory, and material properties.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Solid knowledge of construction methods, interior finishing techniques, and building regulations.
  • Budget management and vendor negotiation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Professional certification or membership in a recognized design association (e.g., IDAK).
  • Experience with sustainable design practices and green building principles.
  • Familiarity with the local Nyeri market and supplier networks.
