Career.zycto is seeking a highly creative and culturally attuned Interior Designer to join our vibrant Clapham-based team, specifically focusing on projects tailored for our discerning American clientele in London and internationally. We are looking for an individual who possesses an innate understanding of American design aesthetics, lifestyle preferences, and functional requirements, capable of translating these into sophisticated, comfortable, and uniquely British-infused spaces.

You will be instrumental in conceptualizing and delivering exceptional interior solutions, from initial client brief through to final installation. This involves conducting in-depth consultations, developing comprehensive design concepts, preparing detailed presentations, and managing projects with precision and flair. The ideal candidate will be adept at sourcing materials and furnishings that resonate with American tastes while also introducing them to the finest European craftsmanship and design trends. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial client consultations to ascertain design preferences, functional needs, and budget for projects, with a specific focus on American clientele.
  • Develop detailed design concepts, including mood boards, material palettes, furniture selections, and spatial layouts that blend American aesthetics with local context.
  • Produce high-quality 2D and 3D renderings, technical drawings, and specifications using industry-standard software.
  • Manage projects from conceptualization through to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Source, specify, and procure furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) from both American and European vendors.
  • Collaborate effectively with architects, contractors, artisans, and suppliers to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Oversee on-site installations, providing guidance and problem-solving to ensure the design vision is accurately realised.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of interior design trends, materials, and regulations, particularly those relevant to an international clientele.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating a diverse range of interior design projects
  • Excellent spatial planning and conceptual design abilities
  • In-depth knowledge of American design styles, furniture, and lifestyle trends
  • Exceptional client communication and presentation skills
  • Strong project management and organizational capabilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field
  • NCIDQ certification or equivalent professional accreditation
  • Experience with international projects or designing for expat communities
  • Proficiency in Revit or other BIM software
