Job Description

Caribbean Cement Company Limited is seeking a meticulous and proactive Inventory Control Assistant to join our dynamic Rockfort team. This full-time role is crucial in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of our inventory records, ensuring optimal stock levels, and supporting the seamless flow of materials essential for our manufacturing operations. The Inventory Control Assistant will be responsible for tracking all incoming and outgoing inventory, conducting regular stock counts, reconciling discrepancies, and generating comprehensive reports. This position demands a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments, including production, procurement, and logistics. You will play a vital part in preventing stockouts, minimizing waste, and contributing directly to the operational efficiency and profitability of the company. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cycle counts and physical inventories of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
  • Reconcile inventory discrepancies and investigate root causes, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records within the company's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
  • Process incoming shipments, verifying quantities against purchase orders and ensuring proper storage and tagging.
  • Prepare and process outgoing shipments, ensuring accurate documentation and proper packaging.
  • Monitor inventory levels, identify potential shortages or excesses, and communicate findings to relevant departments.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Generate regular inventory reports, including stock levels, turnover rates, and consumption patterns.
  • Collaborate with procurement, production, and warehouse teams to optimize inventory flow and storage.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies related to warehouse operations and material handling.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks safely and efficiently (training provided if needed).
  • Participate in end-of-month and year-end inventory audits.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Excellent numerical aptitude and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical tasks in a warehouse environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification in inventory management (e.g., APICS CSCP, CPIM).
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices in a warehouse environment.
  • Forklift operator certification.
