Job Description

Zanzibar Express Logistics is seeking a highly motivated and reliable Entry-Level Inventory Cycle Counter to join our team in Mbweni, Zanzibar City. As an Inventory Cycle Counter, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring the smooth flow of goods, and supporting overall warehouse efficiency. Your primary responsibility will involve performing regular physical counts of inventory items, comparing them against system records, and identifying any discrepancies. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a basic understanding of mathematics, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. You will be instrumental in preventing stock-outs, minimizing waste, and ensuring that our customers receive their goods on time. Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily cycle counts of designated inventory locations and items, adhering to established schedules and procedures.
- Accurately record inventory counts, ensuring all data is captured correctly in the inventory management system.
- Investigate and reconcile discrepancies between physical counts and system records, identifying root causes for variances.
- Generate and review cycle count reports, highlighting significant discrepancies for further investigation by management.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining the warehouse, ensuring items are stored correctly and locations are clearly marked.
- Collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure efficient movement and proper handling of all inventory.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies while performing duties.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing inventory accuracy and warehouse operations.
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Basic computer literacy, including familiarity with spreadsheets (e.g., Microsoft Excel).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift (up to 20kg), and reach for extended periods.
