Career.zycto is actively seeking experienced and dedicated Ironworkers specializing in Reinforcing Steel to join our project teams in Tampa, Florida. This is an immediate hiring opportunity for skilled individuals eager to contribute their expertise to significant construction projects across the region. As an Ironworker focused on reinforcing steel, you will play a crucial role in building the structural integrity of various commercial, industrial, and infrastructure developments. Your work will involve cutting, bending, fabricating, and placing reinforcing steel bars (rebar) to create concrete forms that provide strength and stability to foundations, columns, beams, and slabs. We are looking for individuals who possess a strong work ethic, a commitment to safety, and a proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cohesive construction crew. This role demands precision, physical stamina, and the ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately. Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to determine layout and dimensions of reinforcing steel structures.
  • Cut, bend, and fabricate rebar to specified lengths and shapes using hand tools, rebar benders, and cutting torches.
  • Position and secure rebar into concrete forms, utilizing proper spacing, covering, and tying techniques.
  • Erect and dismantle scaffolding, temporary structures, and safety equipment as required.
  • Operate various hand and power tools safely, including rebar cutters, benders, grinders, and welding equipment.
  • Collaborate effectively with crane operators to guide and place large sections of rebar.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and project-specific safety plans.
  • Inspect work to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and building codes.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and other trades on site.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of proven experience as an Ironworker, with a focus on reinforcing steel.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction blueprints and specifications.
  • Skilled in rebar cutting, bending, tying, and placement techniques.
  • Experience with various rebar fabrication tools and equipment.
  • Strong understanding of construction site safety protocols and practices.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials, bending, and working at heights.
  • Excellent spatial awareness and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Completion of an Ironworker apprenticeship program.
  • Experience with post-tensioning systems.
  • Welding certifications (e.g., AWS D1.1).
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
