Job Description

Are you a meticulous organizer with a passion for clarity and an eye for detail? Tektonic Managed Services is seeking an enthusiastic and highly organized IT Documentation Coordinator to join our growing team in Lynn Valley, North Vancouver. In this critical full-time role, you will be the cornerstone of our internal knowledge base, responsible for creating, maintaining, and standardizing all essential IT documentation. From system configurations and network diagrams to operational procedures and user guides, your work will ensure that our technical information is accurate, accessible, and up-to-date, supporting our IT professionals and enhancing service delivery to our clients. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring that vital information is not only captured but also presented in a clear, consistent, and easily retrievable format. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive documentation standards, templates, and best practices.
  • Create and update a wide range of technical documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), network diagrams, system configurations, user manuals, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Collaborate closely with IT professionals, engineers, and support staff to gather information and ensure accuracy and completeness of all documentation.
  • Organize and manage documentation within designated repositories and knowledge management systems (e.g., SharePoint, Confluence), ensuring easy accessibility for relevant teams.
  • Conduct regular reviews and audits of existing documentation to identify gaps, outdated information, and areas for improvement, implementing necessary revisions.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of training materials and guides based on technical documentation.
  • Ensure all documentation adheres to compliance and security standards.
  • Support the continuous improvement of our knowledge base and internal communication processes.
  • Translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and understandable language for diverse audiences.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in technical writing or IT documentation, preferably in a corporate IT environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong command of English grammar and style.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with documentation tools such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), SharePoint, or Confluence.
  • Solid understanding of common IT concepts, terminology, and infrastructure (e.g., networking, servers, cloud services, software applications).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Problem-solving aptitude and a proactive approach to identifying documentation needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Technical Writing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Certifications in technical writing or IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL Foundation).
  • Experience working in a Managed IT Services Provider (MSP) environment.
  • Familiarity with graphic design tools for creating visual aids and diagrams.
