Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and proactive IT Support Staff member to join our team in a hybrid capacity, serving our operations across Lichfield and the wider Birmingham region. This pivotal role ensures the smooth functioning of our IT infrastructure, providing essential technical assistance to both on-site and remote employees. As an IT Support Staff, you will be the first point of contact for all technical queries, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining our systems to guarantee uninterrupted productivity.

You will tackle a variety of challenges daily, from diagnosing and fixing PC and laptop issues, configuring new user accounts, managing our CRM and other business-critical applications, to ensuring our cloud-based systems are accessible and secure. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first and second-line IT support to all staff, both on-site and remote, via phone, email, and ticketing system.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware (laptops, desktops, printers, mobile devices) and software (OS, MS Office, CRM, cloud applications) issues.
  • Set up, configure, and maintain new user accounts, workstations, and associated peripherals.
  • Monitor network health, perform basic network troubleshooting, and ensure internet connectivity.
  • Assist with the management and maintenance of internal IT systems and documentation.
  • Conduct user training on new software, hardware, or IT policies.
  • Manage IT asset inventory and procure new equipment as needed.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices, including antivirus management and access controls.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff or external vendors when necessary.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in an IT support role (minimum 2 years).
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi).
  • Experience with cloud-based productivity suites (e.g., Microsoft 365, Google Workspace).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide patient and effective support to users with varying technical proficiencies.
  • Self-motivated and able to manage workload effectively in a hybrid work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Professional).
  • Experience with a ticketing system (e.g., Zendesk, Freshservice).
  • Knowledge of remote desktop support tools.
  • Understanding of basic cybersecurity principles.
  • Experience supporting CRM systems or recruitment software.
