Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-line technical support to internal users for hardware, software, and network-related issues, both on-site and remotely.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, peripherals, and software applications.
- Diagnose and resolve technical problems efficiently, escalating complex issues to senior IT staff when necessary.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights across various systems.
- Perform routine system checks, updates, and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Document support requests, resolutions, and procedures accurately in our ticketing system.
- Assist with IT asset management, including inventory tracking and procurement support.
- Collaborate with other IT team members on projects and system improvements.
- Educate users on best practices for IT security and efficient software usage.
- Participate in on-call rotation for critical incidents outside of regular hours, as per the flexible scheduling agreement.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an IT Support Technician or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and basic troubleshooting.
- Experience with hardware installation, configuration, and troubleshooting (desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices).
- Proficiency in using IT ticketing systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively with a flexible schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator).
- Experience with cloud services (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure).
- Knowledge of macOS and Linux environments.
- Basic scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
