Key Responsibilities
- Perform hardware installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrades for desktops, laptops, servers, and network equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software issues efficiently and effectively, both on-site and remotely.
- Provide technical support to end-users, addressing queries and issues related to IT systems, applications, and peripherals.
- Manage and maintain network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and Wi-Fi access points.
- Implement and maintain security measures, including antivirus software, firewalls, and data backup solutions.
- Document all IT incidents, resolutions, and system configurations accurately.
- Assist with IT asset management, including inventory tracking and lifecycle management.
- Collaborate with senior IT staff on projects, system improvements, and strategic planning.
- Stay updated with the latest technological advancements and industry best practices.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in IT hardware setup, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows 10, Windows Server).
- Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and basic networking concepts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and common business applications.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle for client site visits.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Professional).
- Experience with Apple macOS environments.
- Knowledge of virtualisation technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Experience with cloud services (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure).
- Prior experience in an IT Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment.
