Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and skilled IT Technician specialising in Hardware Setup & Troubleshooting to join our vibrant team in Allerton, Liverpool. This full-time, on-site role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of our clients’ IT infrastructure. You will be at the forefront of ensuring all hardware components are meticulously installed, configured, and maintained, providing crucial support to end-users and minimising downtime. Your expertise will be essential in diagnosing and resolving hardware-related issues swiftly, setting up new workstations, and managing peripheral devices. Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, operating systems, and applications for diverse client environments.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex hardware-related technical issues for desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other peripherals.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, upgrades, and repairs on IT equipment to extend lifespan and improve performance.
  • Provide timely and effective technical support to end-users, both remotely and directly on-site, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Manage and track IT assets, ensuring accurate inventory records and facilitating efficient lifecycle management.
  • Collaborate with network administrators and software teams to ensure seamless hardware-network integration and system functionality.
  • Document troubleshooting steps, solutions, and common issues for knowledge base improvement and future reference.
  • Adhere strictly to IT security policies and procedures, protecting data integrity and system security.
  • Assist in the deployment of new systems and technologies, ensuring smooth transitions and user adoption.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting PC hardware components (CPU, RAM, HDD/SSD, Motherboard, etc.).
  • Extensive experience with Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11) installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of hardware installation and configuration processes, including BIOS/UEFI settings.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a highly organised approach to tasks and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CompTIA A+ or equivalent industry certification.
  • Experience with IT asset management systems and inventory tracking software.
  • Familiarity with remote desktop support tools and helpdesk ticketing systems.
  • Knowledge of basic server hardware and virtualization concepts.
  • Previous experience in a helpdesk or dedicated technical support role with a focus on hardware.
  • Understanding of basic networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
